Lise Tewes, school services coordinator for KCPL, visited Glenn O. Swing last week to deliver the items. While there, she read, danced and sang with the kids. Many of the children knew Tewes from her visits to their preschool and were very excited to see her.

“Having books at home has benefitted children in many ways,” says Tewes. “Studies show that simply having a home libraryboosts children’s academic achievement, vocabulary growth and focus.”

The Kenton County Public Library Foundation has been providing books to kindergarteners for at least 10 years.
