Thomas More’s Saints scored their first win of the 2024 season – and we do mean scored – with a 50-0 romp over Kentucky Christian Saturday night at Republic Bank Field to even their record at 1-1.

A pair of Rae’Von Vaden touchdown passes got the Saints out front early as the Louisville Moore grad hit Covington Catholic product Presto Agee for 16 yards and the game’s first score followed by a 22-yard TD toss to tight end Mike Kirch of Cincinnati Elder.

Vaden’s hot streak continued with a 10-yard toss to junior running back Jaden Hall out of Springfield Shawnee followed by a 29-yard Luke Iden field goal to make it 24-0 at the half with Iden, a Scott High alum, following up for a 40-yarder to start the second-half scoring. Freshman Avery Bodner out of Boyle County then blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone for a 33-0 lead.

Hall came back for a 20-yard TD run to make it 40-0 before Iden hit his third field goal – this one from 36 yards out – to make it 43-0. The game’s final score came from redshirt freshman Griffin Scalf’s scamper into the end zone for the 50-0 margin.

For the game, Vaden hit on 17 passes for 217 yards and the three TD. Hall totaled 160 yards of offense (128 rushing, 32 receiving) with two TD. Iden’s three field goals gave him 14 points in the game. Leading the defense with eight tackles including 1.5 for loss was Japhia Kennedy (Lexington Frederick Douglass).

Thomas More hits the road for the first time this season Saturday with a trip to Columbus, Ohio, and a 1 p.m. game at Ohio Dominican to open play in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
