The City of Fort Mitchell has announce William E. Brown, Philip R. Dietz, and Jeffrey P. Eldridge as the 2024 Wall of Honor recipients.

The Wall of Honor recognizes and honors individuals who have unselfishly and diligently served the City of Fort Mitchell as either an employee, volunteer, or elected official.

Nominations were reviewed by a committee before eventually selecting Brown, who volunteered with the Fort Mitchell Fire Department from 1966 – 1989, Dietz, who was the Assistant Fire Chief/EMS Director from 2012 – 2015, and Eldridge, who was the Police Chief from 2011 – 2015.

Brown, Dietz, and Eldridge will have their names engraved on the granite wall in front of the city building thanks to Lewin Monuments, located at 2218 Dixie Highway in Fort Mitchell.

“This dedication is a way to honor those who have served and impacted our city over the years and William Brown, Phil Dietz, and Jeff Eldridge are all very deserving of having their names etched on the Wall,” said Fort Mitchell Mayor Jude Hehman.

The Wall of Honor Ceremony, held every two years, will take place on Saturday, September 28, at 10 a.m. at the city building, 2355 Dixie Highway, Fort Mitchell. Kentucky State Senator Chris McDaniel will be the guest speaker. The event is open to the public and will be followed by a short reception. Past inductees are invited to attend the event.
