Northfield council updated on Bridge Square redesign plans
At its Aug. 8 meeting, the Northfield City Council was updated on the redesign of Bridge Square, a project of particular importance slated to be completed next year. Northfield council chooses Transit Hub design with stair, elevator access
Following meetings with Age Friendly Northfield and other stakeholder groups, the design of Northfield’s long awaited Regional Transit Hub has been modified to ensure that it will be accessible for all area residents. Man killed after walking onto Highway 3 in Waterford Township
A 33-year-old Farmington man died after he was struck by a 2000 Peterbuilt dump truck traveling northbound on Highway 3 at 321st Street in Waterford Township at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The State Patrol reported that Eric Bartholomew Prinsen walked into the roadway from the east and was struck by the truck driven by a 50-year-old man from Northfield. Prinsen died at the scene. The State Patrol reported that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Road condition at the time of the crash was reported as dry. The State Patrol and Dakota County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash.
Second person dies following crash
A second person has died from injuries sustained in a crash in Rice County on Friday morning. Jennifer Miles, 43, of Northfield, died at a hospital on Wednesday, the Rice County Sheriff's Office announced on Thursday. Miles was eastbound on 130th Street and collided with a vehicle that was northbound on Base Line Road, according to the Sheriff's Office news release. A passenger in the other vehicle, Adrienne Lee, 44, of Faribault, died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

On Aug. 3, Northfield Hospital + Clinics donated 30 boxes of medical supplies to College Monfant, a school for girls in Togo, West Africa. The supplies will be shipped to the school with funds raised at the May 2023 Gala.
