The Northfield High School wrestling team improved to 12-6 overall and 7-2 in the Big 9 conference with a pair of victories in Rochester on Thursday, Feb. 9. Man charged with murder in Northfield fentanyl overdose
A young Faribault man is now charged with murder in the July overdose death of a Northfield teenager. Chalin Riley Marcum, 21, was charged with third-degree murder Thursday in Rice County District Court. Marcum is suspected of supplying the fentanyl powder that killed Josiah Richard Schirmer, 19, the charges allege. Marcum reportedly claimed Schirmer bought the drugs that killed him. ...
Appeals court upholds heroin dealer's conviction
The state appeals court upheld a conviction of a man described in court documents as once being “the main supplier of heroin in Rice County.” Antonio Levell Washington, 38, pleaded guilty to felony drug sales in Rice County District Court in September 2021.
