HCI will receive half million in new grants from the state to expand child care
Last week, Gov. Tim Walz announced $6.2 million in new grants to expand child care across the state. One of the 21 organizations with Child Care Economic Development Grants was Northfield's Healthy Community Initiative. HCI received a $500,000 grant as part of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). Northfield News associate editor named AAUW's 'Woman of Achievement 2024'
The Northfield chapter of the American Association of University Women has named Pamela Thompson, associate editor of the Northfield News, as its 2024 Woman of Achievement. AAUW is a national organization with headquarters in Washington DC. The Northfield chapter has been a functioning organization since 1916. The goal of the organization has always been to encourage higher education for women, and in recent years has expanded to include equity for women. “Pamela is certainly deserving of this recognition for the amazing work she does with the Northfield News,” said Jo Klever, longtime AAUW member.
