CHICAGO - Chicago police issued a warning to South and West Side residents Saturday after a recent string of armed robberies in the area. CPD seek group who targeted 3 West Side businesses in ATM burglaries
CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police are looking for a group of thieves who broke into three West Side businesses and stole ATMs.The burglaries happened in the Austin and West Garfield Park neighborhoods during the evening and early morning hours, with the latest happening on Wednesday. Police released surveillance footage of two young men saying as many as five people were involved in the thefts, with two acting as lookouts.The thieves would pry open business locks or break windows before taking money from the cash register. Police Arrest Chicago Man for Alleged Theft Incident at Champaign Walgreens
The suspected theft at a Walgreens in Champaign’s Campustown led to the Tuesday arrest of a guy from Chicago. The 29-year-old Geovontae Galloway was taken into custody at 12:36 p.m. by officers from the University of Illinois Police who had responded to a report of stealing at the Walgreens on East Green Street.
