RR Crossing Project to Begin in Snydertown Borough
– Motorists who travel Market Street (Route 4005) in Snydertown Borough, Northumberland County, are advised that a railroad crossing project begins next week. Beginning Sunday, July 21, 2024, Market Street will be closed between Camp Road and Furman Road, while the contractor, CTW, installs a custom tub-style rail / highway crossing across the road.

Northumberland County recognize area Veterans with resolution
Sunbury, Pa. — The month of July will now be known as Veterans and Armed Services Month in Northumberland County, the Northumberland County Commissioners announced this week. The resolution recognizes the service and sacrifice of the Veterans in the U.S. armed forces. Northumberland County Commissioner Sam Schicchitano shared how the idea came about: “A veterans and armed services month, not a veterans day, not 4th of July day, we need to start with the people who really mean something…but who got us here and who are the ones, that all those other things that they do, they can do now because of our veteran and our people in (armed services).” At the meeting, over a dozen Veterans got an in-person thanks from the commissioners. Also at the meeting, $9,000 was donated for county veterans services—the money was raised by the Sunbury Airport Campground annual poker run.
