The New York State Fair is bringing back the Dinosaur Exhibition for some jurassic fun. The interactive, educational experience featuring 60 true-to-life-size, prehistoric, life-like dinosaurs will be at the 2024 NYS Fair for its entire 13-day run. The family-friendly exhibit will be free with admission to the Fair, which runs from Aug. 23 to Sept. 2.

14 cameras are busting speeders on several roads in New York State this week. The radar was installed as part of legislation, signed into law in September 2022. A number of tri-state area residents reported feeling a shaking or hearing a loud boom Tuesday morning leading to quite the mystery. NASA is estimating a meteor passed through the area between 10 a.m. and noon and would account for people saying they saw a fireball in the sky. NASA said simultaneous military activity in the area may account the shaking or boom residents felt.

Attention Bay State residents: When you are out doing your grocery shopping, pay heed to your surroundings especially when using a credit or debit card when checking out. Big Y supermarket discovered skimmers south of the border in two of its Connecticut stores last month. The grocery chain reports an unknown individual has attached a skimming device to one single terminal in each of its Naugatuck and Plainville locations. back on June 29th. NEW: Large power outage reported in Ballston and Virginia Square
Nearly 3,000 residences and businesses were without power in the Ballston and Virginia Square area Monday evening. That was according to Dominion’s outage map at 6:45 p.m. It’s unclear what caused the outage, which was also affecting parts of the Ashton Heights neighborhood. The Hudson Valley has fallen victim to a slew of cyber attacks in recent months, compromising important information from both local organizations and individuals. Cyberattack complaints in New York state increased 53% between 2016 and 2022, jumping from 16,426 incidents in 2016 to 25,112 in 2022, according to the FBI. The number of attacks targeting critical infrastructure in New York state nearly doubled to 83 in the first half of 2023 compared to 48 during the entirety of 2022 according to a report released by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli.
