A busy stretch of road in East Norwalk will be shut down for the next eight months as construction crews begin to repair the Osborne Avenue Railroad Bridge. It's part of the larger CT Department of Transportation's WALK Bridge program working to replace the deteriorating railroad bridge that crosses the Norwalk River. "The project is really important for the city, for the state, and regionally important," State Sen. Bob Duff told News 12. "We need to be doing this all across our country." Area businesses who weren't notified of the upcoming construction work say the road closure will add to ongoing traffic chaos already in the neighborhood. "Try to get out of your parking lot in the morning or at night, it's horrible," Owner Virginia Tartaglia of Sassy Scissors Salon says. "Hopefully everything will be safe, but with everyone that's coming into this town, it's just getting more congested." Officials say the road underneath the Osborne Avenue Railroad bridge will be closed to traffic in both directions until March 2025. "
