NORWAY, Mich. (WJMN) — A man was found dead on the grounds of a Norway ORV trail over the weekend, a day after his wife reported him missing.

According to the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, a woman had called authorities on Saturday out of concern for her 79-year-old husband.

She said he had left home around 10 a.m., headed to the Norway area to ride his off-road motorcycle but was only expected to be gone for a few hours. When his absence lingered past the afternoon, she reached out to police.

Shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, the man’s truck and trailer were found at the ORV park and ride near the Norway Truck Trail. A search of the area was conducted following the discovery, with a searcher in a DNR plane spotting the man’s body “not far from where he parked the trailer.”

The man’s wife said one reason for her concern was a medical condition the man suffered from, but authorities did not indicate toward what the man’s manner of death had been.
