Man found dead after going dirt biking in U.P.
NORWAY, MI – A 79-year-old Wisconsin man was found dead Sunday afternoon in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, WLUC reports. The man from Oconto, Wis., had gone dirt biking near Norway in Michigan’s Dickinson County around 10 a.m. Saturday, police told the TV station. When he didn’t return home in time to take his medication, his wife reported him missing.
31-year-old overturns vehicle into ditch; says he was forced off the roadway by another vehicle
On Monday, July 15, at 6:21 A.M., deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to an accident at US-131 and 12 Mile Road. The investigation found a 31-year-old-male from Wilson, Michigan went down into the ditch and overturned his vehicle. The driver stated he was ran off the roadway by another vehicle, but that vehicle left without stopping. He was transported by Mecosta County EMS to Corwell Health Big Rapids Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI— Summer tourism is going very well in the Upper Peninsula. That’s according to Tom Nemacheck, Executive Director of the Upper Peninsula Travel and Recreation Association. He says while activity is not record-breaking as it was during the pandemic, tourism reports from every region are “great.” Nemacheck says even so, there’s no way to make up for losses businesses endured during the low-snow winter.
Missing 79-year-old man found dead in Dickinson County
NORWAY, MI— A missing Wisconsin man has been found deceased in Dickinson County. The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and Norway Police Department received a report of a missing 79-year-old Oconto man over the weekend. His wife told deputies he left home around 10 a.m. Saturday to go off-road dirt biking on his motorcycle in the Norway area. She had expected him to be gone a few hours, then return home.
