Valley Village staff receive long-term care awards
TOWNSHEND, Vt. – This week, three team members from Valley Village senior housing (formerly known as Valley Cares) were recognized with excellence awards at the Vermont Health Care Association’s annual award ceremony at the Spruce Peak Lodge in Stowe, Vt. Valley Village’s management and staff were awarded as Assisted Living Administrator of the Year, the Dietary and Housekeeping Services Director of the Year, and the Administrative Assistant of the Year.
Woman taken to hospital after alleged dog attack in Essex
ESSEX, Vt. (WCAX) - Police are investigating a dog attack in Essex that left one woman and her dog injured. Police say it happened just before noon Saturday morning. A woman called police saying two tannish pit bull dogs attacked her and her dog around Marketplace and Pinecrest Drive in Essex Town.

Music and fun fill the air in Stowe this weekend

Claremont, NH, Launch Ramp to Reopen in Late July
Boaters looking to access the Connecticut River via the popular launch ramp at Ashley Park in Claremont, NH, will need to wait a bit longer. Officials with the New Hampshire Department of Fish & Game say that reconstruction of the ramp is roughly half-way completed and expect the ramp to reopen for public use by the end of July. When rebuilt, the ramp will feature a remote ADA-compliant loading/transfer platform.

One man killed in boating incident at Lake Tarleton
Piermont, NH- A drowning is under investigation after one man died at a lake in Grafton County. Police say the incident happened on July 5 around 9:30 a.m. on Lake Tarleton in Piermont. Two men were fishing when their canoe capsized. Investigators say they had life jackets in the boat, but neither was wearing one at the time.
Singo fundraiser packs United Church hall
