With Relay for Life only three months away, Carver County residents are invited now to join a team, create a team, sponsor, or donate to 2024 Relay for Life event.

This year’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Carver County event is taking place on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Legions Pool Park in Norwood Young America. The event opens at 3 p.m. with opening ceremony at 4 p.m. Luminaria walk begins at dusk followed by closing ceremony. Look for details on the website: www.relayforlife.org/carvercountymn

There are several ways to get involved this year! First, visit the website for details and learn about ACS and how you can become a part of the research and resources for cancer patients and their families. Second, join a team or create a team and start your fundraising journey in support of a friend, family member or co-worker on a cancer journey. Third, if you own a business or belong to an organization, you can donate merchandise or gift cards for the “Pick-a Prize” game at the event. Fourth, become a sponsor. The Carver County Relay goal is $25,000. Your business or organization can make a huge difference in the success of reaching this goal.

Sponsorship is a way to show your support for employees, co-workers and their families that your business or organization supports the research and resources that are made available through the American Cancer Society. As a business or organization, you can make a difference in our community. As a bonus, you will receive recognition on the Relay for Life Facebook page, signage at the event, name in the program and verbal acknowledgment during the event. Remember ACS is a 501(c)3 non-profit so there are tax advantages for donations as well.

This year Relay for Life is excited to welcome the acoustic duo (guitars & vocals) It Comes a Time. Their music is creative arrangements of roots and folk from the 1960s- 2000s. They will be playing throughout the event as you walk to share stories, support, and remember, family, friends, and co-workers, who are going through a cancer journey, have survived a cancer journey and those that fought a good fight.

In addition, Sunny Days and Tacos La Catrina Food Trucks will be on sight to provide great tasting food as you enjoy the afternoon and evening. The Carver County community is invited to come to the park and play the “Pick-a Prize” game. Donate $20, draw a number and receive the prize assigned to that number. All prizes are valued at $20 or more, some up to $200 in past years. A fun game in which everyone wins!

Join your family, friends and walk, create a luminary in memory of a loved one, enjoy the music, enjoy the food and play our fun “Pick-a-Prize” game.

Now is the time to join a team, create a team, sponsor or donate to the event.
