    Quarterback: Conner Weigman, Texas A&M

Watch Weigman play and you’ll see a poised, accurate signal-caller with good arm strength and the ability to avoid sacks.

Before suffering a season-ending foot injury four games into his sophomore year, Weigman threw for 8.2 yards per attempt with 8 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He was sacked just 3 times.

Running back: Jamal Haynes, Georgia Tech

Haynes exploded after switching from wide receiver, rushing 174 times for 1,059 yards (6.1 yards per carry). He won’t break a ton of tackles, but he’s a smooth, elusive runner who knows how to hit a hole.

    All-purpose: Zachariah Branch, USC

As a true freshman, Branch totaled 390 all-purpose yards and 3 scores. His jaw-dropping shiftiness and ability to go from zero to 60 in an instant make him a threat from anywhere on the field.

    Wide receiver: Caullin Lacy, Louisville

One of six first-year transfers on this team, Lacy was one of the top wideouts in the portal out of South Alabama. He led college football with 842 yards after the catch, working primarily out of the slot.

    Wide receiver: Elic Ayomanor, Stanford

Ayomanor willed Stanford to an overtime win after falling behind Colorado 29-0. A long-strider at 6-foot-2 who drives his feet through would-be tackles, he caught 13 passes for 294 yards and 3 touchdowns in the second half of that game alone and went for more than 1,000 yards on the season.

Wide receiver: Malik Benson, Florida State

FSU head coach Mike Norvell knows what he’s doing, and he’s really excited about Benson. The Alabama transfer will be WR1 after a massive spring, despite coming in with just 162 career receiving yards.

    Tight end: Mark Redman, Louisville

Redman moves and runs routes well at 6-foot-6, 255 pounds. He’s a reliable target, both in-line and from the slot, who caught 38 passes for 408 yards and 3 scores at San Diego State.

Offensive tackle: Darius Washington, Florida State

Norvell believes Washington can be an All-American in his sixth season. He’s an elite athlete who made first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference, splitting his time between left tackle and center.

Offensive tackle: Trey Zuhn III, Texas A&M

Zuhn is a former Notre Dame recruiting target and current Texas A&M captain. He produced a 77.2 Pro Football Focus pass-blocking grade against the gauntlet of edge rushers that is the SEC.

    Guard: Michael Gonzalez, Louisville

Gonzalez played 2,105 snaps over his first three seasons at Louisville. The All-ACC honorable mention has given up only 1 sack since his freshman year in 2021.

    Guard: Joe Fusile, Georgia Tech

Fusile began his career as a walk-on, but he’s coming off an All-ACC honorable mention season. He played his best against his two toughest opponents in Louisville (86.5 PFF pass-blocking grade) and Georgia (89.2).

    Center: Jonah Monheim, USC

Monheim was USC’s left tackle, but center is considered his natural position and he moved there this spring. PFF’s wins above average metric rated only one tackle more valuable than Monheim from 2022-23: Joe Alt , who starred at Notre Dame.
