The hilarious moment Notre Dame Football players burst out into song while visiting the cast of Hamilton Musical has been captured on camera.

The Fighting Irish hit Broadway over the weekend after being invited by the cast and crew for, quite literally, a peek behind the curtain. Actors, dancers, and behind-the-scenes workers were delighted to welcome the squad.

Photos shared on X, previously Twitter , show the sportsmen chatting, laughing, and posing for photos with the cast. A spokesperson wrote: "What an unbelievable night in the room where it happens. Thanks for the hospitality ."

In another clip, quarterback Riley Leonard and safety Jordan Clark can be seen making their way onto the set and breaking out into a rendition of Alexander Hamilton, one of the show's most famous and memorable songs .

The pair take a line each as they put their all into belting out the lyrics and staring dramatically out into the audience. The video is amusingly captioned: "Show-stoppers? Sorry, @HamiltonMusical, had to take our shot!"

Fans were tickled by the brief switch from sport to singing. One wrote: "Honestly terrific. Let's Go Irish," while a second penned: "Love it." Others reacted with several laughing face and thumbs up emojis.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers, under the new leadership of coach Jim Harbaugh and general manager Joe Hortiz, have recently selected Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt as their first pick in the NFL draft.

Hortiz said: "I said it from the beginning when we started talking about the draft, we were going to take the best player available for the Chargers.

"(Alt) helps our team and he helps us get better. We want to get better with every pick, and that's what we feel like we did." Despite needing a wide receiver after releasing Mike Williams and trading Keenan Allen to Chicago for a fourth-round pick, the Chargers chose to focus on the offensive line in the first round for the third time in four years.
