ELKTON — A Cecil County Sheriff’s Office sergeant is facing criminal charges for allegedly failing to report to work without proper leave on several days over a one-and-a-half-year period and for “numerous incidents of unauthorized overtime hours,” translating to an overall theft of nearly $10,000, the agency reported Thursday. Thousands of PECO customers were still without power Thursday after powerful storms earlier this week.The storm brought damaging winds, gusting higher than 55 mph, and heavy rain."Couldn't find any relief except for just sitting in the shade and tough it out," said Andrew Benmbark, of East Fallowfield Township. The state's highest court has upheld the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's decision to award a license for a planned casino at the Nittany Mall, paving the way for the project to move forward.
