Meet Christina Manero: Glenside native and funeral director at Life Celebration by Freed-Givnish
Christina Manero of Glenside is in her 11th year with Life Celebration by Givnish. A former student at St Luke’s and a graduate of Bishop McDevitt, she initially attended La Salle University’s nursing program before finding her niche in the funeral world. She graduated from Mercer County Community College’s mortuary school in 2015 and has been a funeral director with Givnish ever since.

Iron Hill celebrated its opening with a ceremonial first pour and ribbon cutting earlier today. The brewery and restaurant opened its doors to the public on July 13, 2024; this opening marks its 13th location in Pennsylvania and 21st overall for the concept.
Couple charged in attack on Lancaster woman that left her hospitalized
LANCASTER, Pa. — A man and woman from Lancaster are facing charges after allegedly beating another woman so badly she needed to be hospitalized, police claim. Damaris Almodovar-Ramos, 38, and Antonio B. Farrell, 35, both of Lancaster, are charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct in connection to the alleged incident, which occurred on July 10 on the 200 block of Kentshire Drive, according to Manheim Township Police.

The schools in this conference are all basketball-first schools, which can often lead to higher expectations and shorter leashes for coaches. Police have released photos of the man being sought for a fatal shooting inside a convenience store in Chester, Pa.It happened in the Lucky 7 store on the 1100 block of Morton Avenue just before 11:30 a.m. on July 2.Police identified the victim as 27-year-old Dontae Dickerson.He was found on the floor of the store, with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.The suspect has several tattoos on his arm, specifically an A K-style rifle on his left forearm.Anyone with information is urged to call Chester police.
Lancaster man arrested for armed gas station robbery
LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM)– A Lancaster man was arrested for allegedly robbing a Turkey Hill in Mahiem Township with a firearm on June 18. According to the Manheim Township Police Department, Kewuan Kantrell Jones, 33, entered Turkey Hill wearing all black and a ski mask and brandishing a firearm. Police allege he took $303 from the register and a pack of Newport 100 cigarettes before fleeing the scene on foot.

That, of course, was Lve Aid at JFK Stadium in South Philly on July 13th of 1985. They also did a surprise warm-up gig at the old Chestnut Cabaret at 38th and Chestnut Streets that week in ’85 to prepare for Live Aid. An executive for a company involved in the restoration of 30th Street Station was charged Wednesday in an alleged bribery scheme tied to the project. Lee Maniatis, chief operating officer of MARK 1 Restoration in Dolton, Illinois, allegedly offered trips, an $11,000 watch, a $2,000 steakhouse meal and a dog to Amtrak official Ajith Bhaskaran, who was overseeing the project. In exchange, prosectutors allege Bhaskaran approved inflated invoices submitted by Maniatis and others, over-billing Amtrak throughout the project.
