ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Wes Moore has appointed two new members to the Maryland Port Commission to help protect the port’s growth and maintain its position as one of the most important shipping hubs in the country.

John Brewer Jr. and Adam Neuman have been appointed to the commission by the governor. Brewer is currently serving as the Director of the Office of Insular Affairs in the Department of the Interior. He has held numerous other federal positions including Assistant Secretary for Insular and International Affairs and has served in a variety of leadership positions at the Department of Agriculture.

Neuman is currently serving as the Chief of Staff and Special Advisor to the President of the Baltimore Ravens. He has served in a number of other leadership positions including Chief of Staff, Strategy and Operations for the Big Ten Conference and Deputy General Counsel. Neuman is a licensed attorney and graduate of Yeshiva University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Both Brewer and Neuman will be instrumental in helping the port to continue its growth and will work with the Port Executive Director and the Board of Commissioners to develop policies that will ensure the port’s continued success.

The Port of Baltimore is one of the most important economic engines in the city of Baltimore and the State of Maryland. It generates over 20,000 direct jobs and supports over 273,000 jobs overall.
