Planning begins for Perry Hall’s 250th birthday

PERRY HALL, MD—Planning has begun to celebrate and commemorate Perry Hall’s 250th anniversary in 2025.

Perry Hall was founded in 1775 when Harry Dorsey Gough, a prominent businessman, completed construction of the mansion for which the community derives its name.

A committee has been formed to plan events throughout the year in recognition of the anniversary. The committee includes representatives from the Perry Hall Improvement Association, the Perry Hall/White Marsh Business Association, and the Woman’s Club of Perry Hall, as well as the office of Councilman David Marks. Other members of the committee include Beverly German and Vicki Keller, longtime local residents, and Baltimore County Councilman David Marks.

Events being planned include the burial of a time capsule, discussions on Perry Hall history, the dedication of the new Honeygo Regional Veterans Memorial, and the installation of a path with historic markers at Gough Park.

“We are pleased to come together to recognize and celebrate the Perry Hall community,” said Pat Keller, president of the Perry Hall Improvement Association, established in 1945.

“Perry Hall is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family,” added Renee Streib, president of the Woman’s Club of Perry Hall, also one of the oldest organizations in northeastern Baltimore County.

Jean Borne, president of the Perry Hall/White Marsh Business Association, added that, “The Perry Hall community has many vibrant businesses, some of which have been in Perry Hall for generations. We honor them and all the ways this community is special.”
