Magic Valley Energy still committed to Lava Ridge windfarm
In June 2021, Magic Valley Energy, a subsidiary of New York-based LS Power Development, LLC, submitted a preliminary plan of development to the Bureau of Land Management to build a wind farm, known as Lava Ridge, twenty-five miles northeast of Twin Falls. The project would mainly consist of wind turbines and associated structures to manage them. The goal of the project is to create clean renewable wind energy using up to 400 wind turbines that would reach up to 740 feet and would span 197,474 acres.
‘You have a conundrum’: Eagle council wrestles with budget as costs for police outpace revenue
The City of Eagle won’t be taking any property tax increase this year, but the decision came with a split vote and a lot of heartburn. On Tuesday, the Eagle City Council debated for two hours on how much to increase property tax collections for the upcoming fiscal year 2025 budget. The final 2-2 vote, with Mayor Brad Pike breaking the tie, ultimately will not increase property taxes beyond what would cover annexation and new construction and also increase the Eagle Police Department contract by $700,000.

Man Charged In Connection To Twin Falls Shooting After Large Fight
Twin Falls Police have made an arrest following a shooting that happened in Twin Falls on August 9th, 2024. The incident started as a large fight in downtown Twin Falls, followed by reports of shots fired a few blocks away. Shell casings were found at the scene but no victim was found at that time. Less than half an hour later a man checked into the Emergency Room at St. Luke’s in Twin Falls.
