Freeze warning in effect for portion of North Georgia

    2024-04-05

A Freeze Warning is in effect from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday for parts of North Georgia.

Counties in the warning include Fannin, Towns and Union Counties. Temperatures overnight are expected to dip below freezing in this region. This could result in damage to sensitive plants if precautions are not taken so be sure to take care of them before sunset tonight. Frost appears somewhat unlikely thanks to continued breezy conditions but it can’t be ruled out in well protected locations.

In addition, a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. this evening for most of North and Central Georgia with wind gusts up to 35 mph possible.

Additionally, more widespread frost and freeze potential is expected both Friday and Saturday nights, so if you live anywhere in North Georgia, be prepared for a frost or freeze over the weekend.
