Deer crashes into SUV, seriously hurting passenger

    2024-06-30

A 72-year-old woman was seriously injured when a deer crashed through the windshield of an SUV she was riding in, the Georgia State Patrol says.

The wreck happened shortly after noon on Saturday, June 29, at the intersection of GA 15/US 441 and Tom Born Road in northern Habersham County.

State Patrol spokesperson TFC2 Joshua Staff says Ellen Fiorenza was a passenger in a Toyota Venza traveling north on the highway. The deer ran in front of the vehicle, struck it, and was thrown through the windshield.

Habersham EMS transported the Conyers woman to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Staff says the driver, Brian Daniels, 46, of Atlanta, was not injured.

Scary. I am from the mountains in Germany. We got some big deer over there. One of my friends and her fiancée were driving to the store and had the windows down. They stopped for a buck to cross the road and apparently the buck didn’t like the color of the vehicle. He rammed the drivers side of the car and his antler pierced my friends fiancés neck. He bled to death before the ambulance made it out there.
