1 Nowata man killed in motorcycle crash near Catoosa

ROGERS COUNTY, Okla. — Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a truck on I-44 eastbound near 193rd East Avenue in Rogers County on Thursday night.

OHP said one man from Nowata was killed after crossing into the oncoming lane and hitting a truck head on.

Jason L. Hurd of Nowata was pronounced dead on the scene by Catoosa Fire Department.

Hurd was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle and crossed the grass median, hitting the truck. State Troopers confirmed Hurd was wearing a motorcycle helmet.

The driver of the truck was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Hurd's condition while he was driving is under investigation.
