Man Who Exchanged Gunfire With Fort Collins Police Dies Of Injuries
A man who was shot in a gunfire exchange with Fort Collins police near City Park on Sunday afternoon has died from his injuries. The Greeley Tribune reports the man, identified as 42-year-old Clayton Pierce of Fort Collins, had been involved in a single vehicle crash early Sunday afternoon at Mountain and Bryan Avenues and was found by a responding officer, outside the vehicle armed with a gun. Gunfire was exchanged and both were hit. As a pursuit continued into Grandview Cemetery, there was more gunfire and Pierce went down. He died at UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, where he was taken for treatment.
Mosquito Spraying In Loveland Tuesday Night
Tis the season when West Nile Virus can rear its ugly head and in Loveland officials announced Monday that mosquitoes testing positive forit were found in a trap near Denver Avenue and Ninth Street during routine monitoring of the city’s seasonal mosquito management program. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, Vector Disease Control International began mosquito spraying and monitoring the first week of June and will be spraying the location Tuesday night.
Air quality alert issued for Laramie County due to wildfire smoke
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Southeast Wyoming, and much of the rest of the state, is now under an air quality alert until 1 p.m. Wednesday. On Tuesday, the National Weather Service in Cheyenne stated that Wyoming is currently experiencing poor air quality conditions due to wildfire smoke originating from Canada and the Pacific Northwest.

US census takers to conduct test runs in Colorado 4 years before 2030 count
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Six places in the South and West will host practice runs for the next U.S. head count in 2030. The census helps determine political power and the distribution of federal funds. Residents of western Texas; tribal lands in Arizona; Colorado Springs, Colorado.; western North Carolina; Spartanburg, South Carolina; and Huntsville, Alabama, will be encouraged to fill out practice census questionnaires in the spring of 2026. Census Bureau officials said Monday that they hope the tests will help ensure that in 2030, they count the people who were missed in the 2020 census.
