NUTLEY, NJ - He's performed in Italy, Canada, and venues in the US, but when it came to singing during the most celebrated* holiday in the world, Zachary Sebek chose to perform in Nutley.

"Celebrating America is a true treat and songs like God Bless America and America the Beautiful truly encompass the greatness of the USA" Sebek told TAPinto Nutley. He said he was honored to sing the National Anthem for what he called "our incredible town and being able to enjoy the fireworks."

We know Sebek as Nutley's real estate expert, but there is always more to a person, so we asked.

Sebek graduated from the Mannes School of Music in New York City, with a concentration in Vocal Performance. In recent years, he has performed in different productions, such as a new opera titled 'The End: A Fairytale' and recently performed as Le Chevalier des Grieux in a performance of Massenet's 'Manon.'

In 2022, Sebek performed the role of Charlie in the Lerner and Loewe musical theater classic 'Brigadoon' with the Savannah Voice Festival. Sebek has also traveled to sing for high-level clientele, having performed solo at Carnegie Hall and in different festivals, such at the Brancaleoni International Music Festival in Italy, and the International Vocal Arts Institute Summer Festival in Canada.

Zachary is a proud member of the Sebek Tenors, an Opera/Broadway trio with his father Christian and his brother Eric. In 2022 The Sebek Tenors performed “Vinceremo” a Concert for Ukraine.

In September 2023, Sebek Zachary was proud to organize and perform with the Sebek Tenors in a concert to help tackle children's cancer for The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund raising over $7,500. This year, Zachary along with the Sebek tenors and Nutley Rotary raised $8,000 for Nelson Matos a Nutley High School senior in need of aid for medical expenses.

TAPinto Nutley can't be the only ones who need to know more, so we asked Sebek about his favorite American songs. "My favorite America- themed songs have to be classics such as 'New York, New York', along with 'Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin' from Oklahoma! On days when we get to celebrate the USA, it reminds me of one of my favorites, 'God Bless the USA' by Lee Greenwood.

*At it's peak in 1922, the British Empire covered one quarter of the earth. Think about it, all the US and Canada, Kenya, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Australia, Nigeria, and more were once under the rule of the crown. Most people don't realize that independence from British rule is the most celebrated holiday in the world.
