NUTLEY, NJ - When Roche left Nutley, taking their $10 million in annual taxes with them, it seemed like Nutley's best days were in the past. Then Prism Capital bought the campus and put Nutley back on the map in ways we could never have imagined.

Lisa Marie Falbo recently hosted Prism's Eugene Diaz and Edwin Cohen on YourNewJersey on MeTV - WJLP to learn more about the changes taking place on the north side of Nutley.

Nutley residents may not be familiar with Prism beyond the On3 project, but may be familiar with some of their other redevelopment projects. The Parkway Lofts near the Garden State Parkway in Bloomfield are a repurposed GE factory. Thomas Edison's historic factory in West Orange is now housing.

When Prism presented their vision to companies, Hackensack Meridian saw the opportunity to plant their flag on the site and become a major anchor for the project. Their presence became a springboard for other projects, including Quest Diagnostics' largest facility. CDI, the Center for Discovery and Innovation, has already made history. The rapid fire COVID test was created in Nutley.

Other projects include a Starbucks with drive-thru, one-thousand residential units with first floor retail, and an 80,000 square foot medical building for Hackensack Meridian. Construction of a 260 room hotel is expected to start later this year.

With all the construction taking place, many would be surprised to learn that there is currently 20 more acres of green space on the site compared to when Roche occupied the site.
