NUTLEY, NJ - When Township of Nutley Mayor John V. Kelly III said, "Nutley is a destination, not a stop along the way," at his May 21 inauguration, he knew great things were going to happen in town. Enter the Hudson Rose .

Formally opening on Friday Aug. 2, the Hudson Rose is raising the bar for service, experience, and menu, not only in Nutley, but for Northern NJ.

First impressions are everything, and the first thing everyone noticed was the vast parking lot. While formally located on Franklin Ave., the main entrance to the Hudson Rose is reached from the municipal lot located behind the restaurant. Parking really matters.

Don't worry, this isn't some "enter through the back alley kitchen door" entrance, the rear of the building was remodeled with a glass facade. Upon entering, guests won't recognize the space at all.

With a full bar on each floor, varied seating options including booths, tables, and high tops, and a menu that gets better line by line, the Hudson Rose is a game changer. The menu is a treat, its like reading a short story where every line is better than the previous.

Our first taste left us verklempt - don't worry, TAPinto Nutley will share much more about the experience. And yes, the duck at the Hudson Rose is THAT good.
