Fort Campbell announces new barracks complex
Fort Campbell announced that the 1st Brigade Combat Team “Bastogne” is set to host a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new barracks complex. According to a news release, the new barracks complex is replacing a complex built in the 1980s and the project is a major step toward improving soldier housing. The new living quarters will include more space and privacy for residents.
Housing data walk: ‘I just want to see there start being action’
“We have the information,” said Wilder resident Dina Shields. “Now it’s time to understand what the action items are.”. Shields was one of several attendees to Thursday’s community listening session on housing, which took place at the Independence Senior Center. The event was put on by the Brighton Center, the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, and the Northern Kentucky Area Development District in hopes of gathering “input from community members to understand how Northern Kentucky’s current housing landscape has impacted their families, and how they hope policymakers will address housing issues going forward,” according to an announcement preceding the event.

Future Healers program deliver new medical books to Nashville expansion chapter
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville nonprofit delivered new educational books to a group in Nashville focused on supporting children impacted by violence. Christopher 2X's Game Changers has devoted resources to supporting children impacted by gun violence with the Future Healers program, which is a partnership between the Game Changers, UofL Hospital's Trauma Institute and students at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. The goal of the program is to help Louisville children who have been impacted by violence in their neighborhoods to build a better future.
