OAK HARBOR, Washington (WJW) – Six people were injured after officials say a ride tipped over at a Fourth of July-themed carnival in Washington state this week.

“Ensuring the safety of our residents and visitors is our top priority,” said Mayor Ronnie Wright in the post. “After careful deliberation and consultation with law enforcement and city officials, it became (clear) that this was the best course of action to protect our community.”

Other activities like an Independence Day parade and a beer garden went on normally on Thursday.
