Burien City Manager Accuses King County Executive of “Establishing” Encampment Outside Courthouse
In an email to Deputy King County Executive Shannon Braddock last week, Burien City Manager Adolfo Bailon demanded answers to a number of questions about an encampment outside the King County Courthouse in downtown Burien, where unsheltered people have been living for several weeks. The county recently set up a fence around the encampment that prevents it from sprawling onto the sidewalk.

Well-known for their successful multi-family rental communities, Class A industrial and commercial projects, Tarragon envisions Uplands to be an active and socially connected community. Uplands will bring to market a diversity of home types, the first 155 of which will be built by four trusted homebuilders. The initial homes will range in size from 2,000 to 3,500 square-feet.

Charley Royer, Seattle’s longest serving mayor, dies at 84

In the other Washington, not so much. In Olympia, the White House and adjoining Blue House were the nicknames for 1920s-era buildings on the Capitol campus that housed the press corps. They fell into disrepair as the number of reporters registered to cover the Legislature full time fell from 30 in 1987 to only six today. It did not, in fact, make news when they were reduced to parking lots.
