FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — An Oak Hill man faces felony charges in Fayette County after being caught with drugs.

Deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling in the Miller Ridge area of Fayette County around 12:00 p.m. on June 11, 2024 when they saw a group of people, one of which was in possession of a gun, around a car.

The deputies knew that the people who lived in the house could not possess weapons, so they stopped and approached the group. Plumb, who was holding the gun, attempted to hide it, and the deputies noticed that the car smelled of marijuana.

Plumb was detained by the deputies, who proceeded to search the car. During the search, the deputies found a handgun, $3945 in cash, a large amount of marijuana, THC products, suspected fentanyl, as well as other paraphernalia associated with narcotic distribution.

Plumb will await further court proceedings, and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office stated that all defendants are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law, and that criminal complaints are only documents that allege criminal charges.
