OAK HILL, WV (WVDN) – Color bursts forth in dynamic fashion on August 3rd when, for the second year, ACE Adventure Resort will host the Color Dash for Hope. This 5K timed run will start at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the resort’s water park. The race is a fun celebration where participants start the race wearing white and finish splattered in vibrant color. Along the course runners will be doused with different vividly-colored powders.

The first half of the course follows a level gravel road to ACE’s Concho Overlook of the New River Gorge where racers can enjoy the breathtaking view and get water at the aid station. They will return via a relatively flat and easy trail.

The event is a fundraiser for the Hope in the Hills organization. Hope in the Hills is a non-profit organization dedicated to combating opioid addiction in Appalachia.

Prizes will be awarded for top finishers, and everyone who crosses the finish line will get a Color Dash for Hope medal. A free burrito buffet and awards ceremony await runners after the race. Participants can camp for free Saturday night and enjoy live music by Jeremy Short ( https://jeremyshortmusic.com/ about ) at The Lost Paddle Bar & Grill that evening.

Registration and event details can be found on ACE’s website at https://aceraft.com/event/ color-dash-for-hope/ . Discounted advanced tickets can be purchased through July 31.
