OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An expansion of Fayette County’s Needleseye Park is set to begin on Monday as construction gets underway for seven miles of contracted trails within the park.

The City of Oak Hill Parks and Recreation authority provided the update over the weekend, noting that work would be getting underway on Monday and would be expected to continue throughout the next several months.

Due to ongoing work in relation to the project, visitors at Needleseye Park have been urged to be mindful of the on-site contractor conducting trail work and to avoid all work zones if possible. This will include avoidance of a specific area of the park parking lot set aside and designated specifically for use by the contractor.

Access to the trails which are being constructed is also prohibited, and area residents have been asked to avoid any use of freshly built trails, according to the City of Oak Hill Parks and Recreation authority.

An estimated date of completion for the project has not been provided at the time of writing, as several factors such as weather and unforeseen project obstacles could potentially impact the timeline of the ongoing park project.
