    July 4th events around East Tennessee in 2024

    KNOXVILLE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — The Fourth of July will soon explode with colorful fireworks and patriotic songs as people gather to celebrate the U.S. Independence Day . Several events as well as fireworks regulations around East Tennessee have already been announced.

    Below is a list of events that are planned to celebrate July 4th, which falls on a Thursday. This list will be updated as communities and groups share information.

    Knox County

    City of Knoxville’s Festival on the 4th – The Festival on the 4th at World’s Fair Park will include entertainment, activities and treats for the whole family. The free events begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. at the conclusion of the fireworks show. The event is rain or shine.

    Town of Farragut’s Independence Day Parade – The Town of Farragut’s annual Independence Day Parade returns at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 4. The parade begins on Kingston Pike at Stadium Drive and continues to Boring Road, just east of Farragut Towne Square Shopping Center (former Ingles store site).

    Anderson County

    City of Oak Ridge – Oak Ridge Community Band Independence Day Concert followed by the City’s Fireworks Show at A.K. Bissell Park – The city says that the annual July 4 concert will be special to the Community Band as they celebrate the 80th anniversary of the band’s first concert held on July 4, 1944. Bring chairs or blankets for outdoor seating and come early as this event traditionally attracts large crowds for both the concert and the fireworks show.

    Sevier County

    Pigeon Forge’s July 4 Patriot Festival Concert – Country artist Joe Nichols is headlining the July 4 Patriot Festival in Pigeon Forge, which will be held at the city’s Patriot Park. An afternoon of entertainment and activities begin at 4 p.m. with a veterans tribute before Joe Nichols takes the stage at 8:30 p.m. A patriotic fireworks display follows the free concert.
