July 8 the deadline for submitting candidates' announcements, letters on candidates

Early voting begins July 12 in the Anderson County and Roane County elections and state and federal primaries.

The Election Day for those elections is Aug. 1. If you are not registered to vote, July 2 is the deadline to register if you wish to vote in these elections, according to the Anderson County Commission website .

In light of the coming elections, The Oak Ridger will accept local candidates' announcements, as well as letters to the editor in support or against the candidates until 5 p.m. Monday, July 8. No announcements or letters in connection to specific candidates will be accepted after that deadline.

Candidate announcements and letters can be emailed to dsmith@oakridger.com. No information mailed or emailed will be accepted.

Paid advertisements or people wishing information on advertising can email alutheran@localiq.com .
