It's been open in Oak Ridge for about a week. Have you got your Long John Silver's seafood and hushpuppies fix yet?

The subject of many local social media posts opened on Thursday, June 27. The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony that morning and for days afterward there were long lines of vehicles in the drive through.

Long John Silver's has returned to Oak Ridge after closing another restaurant several years ago.

The new location for Long John Silver's is 1150 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

“We are excited to bring Long John Silver’s back to Oak Ridge, offering the delicious, quality seafood fare and friendly service that customers expect from the brand,” John Rankin, senior director of operations for Charter Foods is quoted as saying in a news release. Charter Foods, on its website, is described as "Charter Foods is "a growing franchise owner operating across the Eastern United States, renowned for its diverse portfolio of iconic quick-service restaurant brands including A&W, Taco Bell, Long John Silver's, and KFC."

The news release from the Louisville, Kentucky-based company headlined that Long John Silver's had returned to Oak Ridge "shores" and featured a new restaurant design.

The restaurant "features a clean, modern design, with nods to Long John Silver’s nautical heritage throughout the restaurant. With crisp lines and a vibrant color palette inside and out, the new store creates a welcoming space," the release stated.

The Oak Ridge location is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to midnight.
