Virginia football unveils new uniforms for 2024 season
Virginia football will hit the field in new uniforms this fall. The university announced the new uniforms with a video on social media. "We're excited for these new enhanced Nike uniforms," said Virginia head coach Tony Elliott in a social media post on Tuesday. "They blend a traditional look of Virginia Football history with updated jersey technology for the future. Our stripes are a timeless aspect of the UVA uniform and symbolize the unity it will take to reach new heights."
UIS Men’s Basketball Receives NABC Team Academic Excellence Award
The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team was honored with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award. The Prairie Stars earned the award for the fourth time in five years. The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes men's basketball programs that completed the 2023-24 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Four Prairie Stars were also named to NABC Honors Court. Isaiah Esker, Yamani Shareef, Max Kunnert, and Jason Bergstrom were recognized as junior, senior, or graduate men's basketball student-athletes with GPAs of 3.20 or higher during the 2023-24 school year. The Board voted on an amended policy, in which high school students are no longer allowed to take their phones out of their lockers during lunch periods.
