A female rapper was shot dead by a masked gunman in front of horrified fans as she performed at a meet and greet. Alliauna Green, 27, known to fans as Tan DaGod was performing at the opening of a beauty store in North Oakland, California , at around 5pm last Saturday when a hooded gunman walked in and fired directly at her.

The rapper, who had been promoting the event on her Instagram account , where she has over 24,000 followers, is thought to have got into an argument with someone before the shooting took place. Friends of Green raced her to the hospital after the attack but she was later pronounced dead by doctors.

Horrifying video from the scene has been shared on social media showing the moments just before the attack as Green smiled with people, before a man is seen marching in the store and a series of shots ring out. The camera cuts out as people flee the event - which had children dancing with their families just moments earlier.

Sul Cho, an employee at a closeby Korean barbecue restaurant who was at te event told KTVU: "She was performing there, and this guy with a hood just walked in through that gate and started shooting. Everybody like ducked and hid behind the cars.

“He was targeting her only, cause I saw it. He wasn’t shooting at everybody, he was just shooting at her.”

Earlier in the day, the store had its grand reopening. Green gave fans a virtual tour of the premises via Instagram and put on a performance.

Green does not have an ownership stake in the store, but attended the event at the invitation of friends to endorse the business and express support for the new owners, according to one of the co-owners who wished to remain anonymous.

Police are currently unclear on a motive for the killing, but family members have denied online rumors it was a reprisal attack for a song she released and a social media post the rapper did hinting she was pleased about the death of her ex-lover.

Green appeared in a short video posing next to a gravestone with the beginning and end dates of their relationship on it and the words 'RIP here lies my ex' as well as producing the song with disparaging lyrics about an ex.

Family members said the song in question was simply a 'diss track' for clout and she had nothing to do with her partner's death.

In an Instagram post, Oakland rapper Mistah F.A.B, revealed he had been due to appear at the event too, saying: “The violence is beyond understanding the hurt the pain the trauma has made a forever lasting impact @tan.dagod I will always remember you as a hustling ass go getter, with a world of ambition, drive and courage and a heart big as TEXAS!!!!

"I love you lil sis and told you on several occasions sad to see this happen!!! They had me booked to be there with you but GOD had different plans."

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $15,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
