Pistons improved, but still rank way behind in stacked NBA Eastern Conference
The 2024 NBA draft is over, free agency is mostly done, and one thing is clear: The Eastern Conference has grown stronger. The Boston Celtics, after a dominant run to the 2024 title, showed the rest of the conference there is a need for more talent. The top teams in the East responded, and many have an argument they are better than last season.

How Oakland Hills Country Club became one of golf's most iconic venues
Championship golf is back at Oakland Hills Country Club. The 2024 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship is set for Michigan's historic golf course in Bloomfield Township, beginning Monday and running through Saturday. Detroit library could be exempt from some controversial 'tax captures' if millage passes
In August, Detroiters will be asked to vote to extend, for another decade, a Detroit Public Library millage that generates the vast majority of its operating budget. If approved, the proposal to renew the millage could mean more money for library coffers. So-called Proposal L, if passed, would keep the...
A key sign points to traction in Tarik Skubal trade talks between Orioles and Tigers
While the Detroit Tigers have likely exceeded their 2024 expectations to this point with a 49-51 record, the postseason feels like a stretch for this team given the sum of its parts. Tigers starting pitcher Tarik Skubal will be a trade target for many teams, but the Orioles may be the current front runners to land the southpaw hurler.
Why Red Wings’ Quiet Offseason Was the Right Call Long Term
Plenty of ink has been spilled since the NHL’s Free Agency arrived on July 1 about the uncharacteristically quiet offseason for Steve Yzerman and the Detroit Red Wings. Through the first few days of free agency, the team hadn’t added any significant assets, and had lost an important leader and depth scorer in David Perron, not to mention the brutal Jake Walman trade that baffled hockey fans the world over.

Very early 2025 mock draft has Lions adding versatile 'weapon' to defense
The defense was the weakest link for the Detroit Lions last year. An overall lack of consistent pass rush and bad coverage on the back end created a "chicken or the egg?" scenario, but an effort was made to help both areas this offseason-particularly at cornerback. As the coming season...
