District Attorney’s Office Honors Two Lawyers for Outstanding Public Service
DOYLESTOWN, PA—Two prosecutors were given honors by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office for their outstanding public service. Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn presented the awards at the department’s annual awards ceremony on Thursday night. Deputy District Attorney John T. Fegley received the department’s award for Exceptional Public Service. Roundabout Construction on Easton Road Will Move to Repaving This Week
DOYLESTOWN, PA—Easton Road south of Doylestown Borough will be repaved this week as part of the roundabout construction that’s been taking place since January of this year. PennDOT announced that paving will take place on Monday, July 29, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. where Easton Road meets Turk Road. There will be a lane closure in both directions during the construction.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER That part of Easton Road has been subject to lane closures since January, so the closures for repaving won’t be news to motorists who regularly use that stretch of roadway. Those closures are scheduled to run through April of 2026. PennDOT is building two roundabouts on that stretch of Easton Road, one at the intersection of New Britain Road and the other at the intersection of Sauerman Road. PennDOT officials have said that the roundabouts are being installed to reduce the number of accidents at the intersections. For more information on the project, see PennDOT’s website. Police chief sees a firework issue in Easton. He wants to find a solution.
Easton police Chief Carl Scalzo said while consumer fireworks are legal in Pennsylvania, there are conditions according to state law. Still, the police can only do so much. Scalzo attended Easton’s city council meeting on Wednesday to walk council and the public on Pennsylvania’s fireworks laws after an extensive discussion by council members earlier this month following the Fourth of July.
Teenager, woman injured after shooting breaks out in Germantown; suspect sought
Two people are injured after a shooting broke out in the Germantown section of Philadelphia on Friday night.It happened at approximately 11:30 p.m. in Fernhill Park along the 4600 block of Morris Street.Police say at the scene, officers located an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman who had been shot.Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital.
