Thornton native wins Mrs. Agriculture USA 2024
THORNTON W.Va. – After representing West Virginia for a year, Taylor County native Grace Austin-Trboyevich was recently named Mrs. Agriculture USA 2024. Miss Agriculture USA, a national nonprofit organization, runs through all 50 states, inviting participation from all ages from two years old and beyond. Austin-Trboyevich started her journey with the organization by applying to be West Virginia’s queen in 2023.
Logan firefighters battle residential blaze
LOGAN, W.Va. (WCHS) — Firefighters fought a blaze in Logan has left a mobile home damaged after it was engulfed in flames early Saturday morning. According to the City of Logan County Fire Department reports of the fire came in about 2:30 a.m. and firefighters were dispatched to a double wide along Heritage Lane in the Sunbeam area where the structure was fully engulfed from its rear.

Lewisburg’s Carnegie Hall presents ‘Distant Light’ Thursday
LEWISBURG, W.Va. – Carnegie Hall continues its 2024 Ivy Terrace Concert Series Thursday, July 11, at 6:30 p.m. with Distant Light. Sponsored by City National Bank, the concert takes place outside on Carnegie Hall’s Ivy Terrace as attendees watch from the expansive lawn in front of New River Community and Technical College. West Virginia Braces for Overnight Storms as Cold Front Approaches
Charleston, WV – Severe weather continues to threaten parts of West Virginia tonight as a cold front moves through the area. According to the US National Weather Service in Charleston, residents should anticipate spotty showers and storm activity overnight into Saturday morning. Low temperatures will range from the mid-60s to low 70s in the lowlands and mid-60s in the mountains. The severe storm risk remains in effect until the cold front exits by Saturday morning.
