Foley Plans New Garbage Route with Additional Trucks
Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – Two new garbage trucks will help Foley expand garbage collection services to include a fifth residential route later this year. The city will buy two side-loading collection trucks, each with a capacity of 31 cubic yards. The trucks are scheduled to be delivered in 12 to 14 months.
ALEA Partners with Cities To Enhance Beach Safety
ALEA aviation services will assist local fire and rescue units. Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Aviation Unit has teamed up with Gulf Shores and Orange Beach for the third year to enhance beach and water safety. This partnership, celebrated at Gulf State Park, unites state and local officials in their commitment to protecting swimmers.

100% of Orange Beach City Schools’ Third-Grade Students Pass ACAP Reading Assessment. Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – According to a press release, the Orange Beach City Schools' third-grade class achieved a noteworthy milestone by earning a passing score on the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP) Reading test. Every third-grade student met or exceeded the benchmark score of 435, marking the district as the only one in Alabama to comprehensively pass the assessment. Poor Water Quality Alert Issued for Orange Beach’s Waterfront Park
Swimming Advisory Issued for Waterfront Park on Wolf Bay in Orange Beach. Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) advises the public that two recent successive tests of swimming water quality were poor. Swimming in this area may lead to an increased risk of illness. Monitoring will continue, and the advisory will be lifted once bacteria values fall below the Environmental Protection Agency’s threshold of 104 enterococcus organisms per 100 milliliters for marine water.
Foley Police and Fire Departments Compete in Blood Drive

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – On June 18, the Orange Beach City Council will consider making a nearly $7 million appropriation to Orange Beach City Schools for daily operations and money needed to continue building projects.
