OPD Welcomes New Full-time Officer
(Oblong) – The Oblong Police Department recently welcomed a new full-time officer. Oblong Chief of Police, Colton Williamson, and the Village of Oblong welcomed Hunter Michl to the OPD during an August 12th swearing in ceremony. Officer Michl has been working part-time with the Village and will fill the role of full-time police officer in place of Officer, Caleb Newman. According to Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, Officer Newman has accepted a full-time position with the US Army, but will be staying with the Oblong Police Department on a part-time status.
