Unit 3 Board Has a “Handful” of Items on its Agenda
(Palestine) – The Palestine Unit 3 Board meets this evening and they have a “handful” of items on the agenda. They are set to appoint a representative for the IASB Delegate Assembly, review the Grade School and High School Handbooks, accept bids for the sale of maintenance items, and recognize groups who raised funds under the district name. The Unit 3 Board will also hold a closed session to review and consider employment. The Palestine Unit 3 Board meets this evening at 6 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria.
Unit 1 Board Meets Tonight
(Hutsonville) – The Hutsonville Unit 1 Board meets this evening and they have a light agenda. On the “Consent Agenda,” the board is set to review the Treasurer’s Reports and approve bills, the disposition of minutes, and approve the ERBA Head Start agreement. In “New Business,” the board will accept resignations, discuss the “Back to School Bash” on August 13th, a Teacher Institute on August 14th, and the first of day school on August 15th. The Hutsonville Unit 1 Board meets at 6 p.m. in the Commons.

(OLNEY/NEWTON) As a line of showers and thunderstorms dropped southeastward into our downstate area this morning, we’ll somewhat dry out by later today before a second round of rain chances is expected by later this evening and overnight. Therefore, a Flood Watch has been issued for all of our listening area through tonight. After the rain ends by tomorrow morning, our sky will clear and we’ll then stay dry for the rest of the work week and through the weekend as well, plus some less humid air moves in for the next several days. Decatur Family YMCA to host Backpack Attack with free school supplies Aug 3rd
July 16, 2024 – The Decatur Family YMCA will host their annual Backpack Attack event on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. During the event, 2,000 school supply-filled backpacks will be handed out to students entering kindergarten through 6th grade. Students need to be present to pick out their backpacks.
Demolition underway of former Durfee School in Decatur
