Trump calls Kid Rock concert attendees ‘the true backbone’ of the US

Rock musician Kid Rock was introduced to the stage at a Friday night concert by former President Donald Trump , who described the singer as "one of the greatest entertainers of our time."

Trump made the introduction in a prerecorded video, which was played on the giant screens at the concert in Ocala, Florida . The former president also praised those attending the concert and encouraged them to continue to "fight for our God-given freedoms."

"All of you in attendance are the true backbone of our great country, hardworking, God-fearing, rock 'n' roll patriots," Trump said in his video. "Bob is truly one of the greatest entertainers of our time. Let's all continue to love one another, fight for our God-given freedoms, and most of all, let's make America rock again!"

Trump concluded his message by putting on a red ball cap with the inscription "Make America Rock Again," a nod to his "MAGA" campaign hats. The former president shared footage on Saturday of the concert audience, which was chanting "U-S-A."

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, has been vocal in his support for Trump, and he attended a UFC match with the former president in November.

Kid Rock's concert on Friday was part of the Rock The Country tour he is doing with country musician Jason Aldean, which started in April. The tour's first stop in Gonzales, Louisiana, featured former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson attending in person to introduce Kid Rock to the stage.

The tour's next stop will be Mobile, Alabama, from June 21 through 22, and it will conclude in Anderson, South Carolina, from July 26 to 27.
