Arlington man charged following I-66 crash; Fauquier sheriff's K-9 helps nab suspect
An Arlington man is in custody following an early-morning crash on Interstate 66 in Fauquier County Sunday. Shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday, Fauquier Fire and Rescue System units and multiple sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported crash on the westbound side of I-66 west of Marshall, according to a sheriff’s office news release. The crash closed the highway for more than an hour.
Man who pushed woman out of moving car near Ballston sentenced
A Maryland man has been sentenced to 45 years behind bars after pushing a woman out of a moving vehicle near Ballston, causing severe injuries. Willie James Clements Jr., 61, was sentenced to 35 years for aggravated malicious wounding, as well as the maximum 10 years for hit-and-run, in Arlington County Circuit Court last week.
FCPD identifies victims in fatal Lorton, Great Falls pedestrian crashes
Alcohol and drugs may have played roles in separate vehicle crashes that killed two pedestrians in Fairfax County this past Saturday (July 20), police say. Yesterday (Sunday), the Fairfax County Police Department identified Giomarie Davila-Ocasio, a 26-year-old Reston resident, as the woman who died after being hit by a driver in the Great Falls area of Route 7 (Leesburg Pike). The department also announced that a teen was arrested in connection with a fatal crash in Lorton.

3 dead in Fairfax County crash
LEGATO, Va. — Three people are dead after a crash in Fairfax County early Tuesday. The crash involved a single vehicle on West Ox Road and Route 29 just before 5 a.m. When officers got to the scene, the driver, only identified as a man, and two women passengers were declared dead. Both directions of West Ox Road and the ramps to westbound West Ox Road from Route 29 were closed for the crash investigation, according to police. Roads reopened around 8:30 a.m.
