Police: Fairfax City man charged with firing gun into townhome
A Fairfax City man has been charged with reckless use of a firearm after allegedly firing a gun inside his home last week. The City of Fairfax Police Department says its officers responded to the 10000 block of Whitehead Street in the Old Fairfax Mews townhomes at 12:26 a.m. on July 15 after a resident reported that a gun was fired into their home.

No charges have been filed against two Alexandria brothers who were hospitalized with serious injuries after a fight in the West End earlier this month. The Alexandria Police Department responded to a stabbing call for service at an apartment in the 500 block of N. Armistead Street on Sunday, July 7. Police arrived and found the brothers on the floor of the apartment, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit.

3 dead in Fairfax County crash
LEGATO, Va. — Three people are dead after a crash in Fairfax County early Tuesday. The crash involved a single vehicle on West Ox Road and Route 29 just before 5 a.m. When officers got to the scene, the driver, only identified as a man, and two women passengers were declared dead. Both directions of West Ox Road and the ramps to westbound West Ox Road from Route 29 are closed for the crash investigation, according to police. Drivers should seek alternate routes.

Virginia Dream FC soccer team wins another championship
The Virginia Dream FC soccer team, on the heels of becoming the United Premier Soccer League’s DMV South Conference playoff champions, also won another recent title. The Dream, based in Falls Church, defeated the host Annapolis Blues, 2-0, to win the men’s National Premier Soccer League’s Mid-Atlantic Conference crown. The win came after the Dream earned a 3-2 comeback victory over Alexandria Reds Pro in a semifinal match.
