While it has been a doozy of a week weather-wise with high temperatures in the 90s, things are expected to cool down a little as the weekend approaches. For those looking for a little live music at the beach, however, concert venues are heating up with some of their biggest shows of the summer scheduled for the days ahead.

Country stars, a masked dance music DJ and more at Bottle & Cork

In Dewey Beach, the Bottle & Cork nightclub has a string of heavy-duty performers on tap representing a wide swath of musical styles. Country star Hailey Whitters will perform at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 18 ($27). The masked electronic dance music DJ known as White Panda will return to spin music at 9 p.m. Friday, July 19 ($36).

On Sunday, July 21, the Cork will present the return of Philly rock ’n’ roll favorite Tommy Conwell & the Young Rumblers ($30). That group enjoyed a successful two-nighter opening for the legendary Motley Crue on May 3-4 at the Mark G. Ettess Arena (Hard Rock Live) in Atlantic City, N.J. Sunday’s Dewey show will find Rumblers drummer Jim Hannum doing double duty, as he will also play an 8 p.m. opening set with local blues-rock act The Olivia Reynolds Band.

Country music will back on the Cork’s radar next week with back-to-back appearances by Jimmie Allen at 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 23 ($39) and Matt Stell at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 24 ($25). The shows coincide with the singer’s yearlong battle fighting two sexual assault allegations made against him by two different women.

At 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 19, fans will enjoy An Evening With Leslie Odom, Jr. ($79.50). The multifaceted Odom has won both a Grammy and a Tony award (and been nominated for multiple Academy Awards and Emmys).

The cleverly-named Yachtly Crew will play mellow yacht-rock radio hits from the 1970s and ‘80s at Freeman at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 20 ($39.17). The Bacon Brothers will appear Sunday, July 21, after a 7 p.m. opening set by Cindy Alexander ($49.54). Shows by Fleetwood Mac tribute act Rumours on Wednesday, July 24, and comedy icon Jerry Seinfeld on Thursday, July 25, are both sold out.
