Kushner Companies’ saga with the First Real Estate Investment Trust of New Jersey over a botched deal may finally be coming to an end. The New York-based real estate firm reached a settlement with FREIT, agreeing to pay the New Jersey-based REIT $16.9 million in a deal announced yesterday. Though it appears Kushner gained nothing from the agreement – a representative for Kushner could not immediately be reached for comment – the settlement closes the door on a chapter that’s dragged on for four years.

The Aurora City Council will consider using opioid settlement money Monday to pay for drug treatment for clients of its yet to open homeless services campus. The council will vote during its study session whether to spend money from the fund on a peer advisor, a van to transport clients from the navigation center to treatment, and a case manager. The city will receive about $14 million in opioid settlement funds, according to a presentation by city staff to the city council.

Yeomans said she heard the guard harassing her son over the phone.
